NO TWO RIDERS ARE ALIKE

Students will have different experience levels and will learn at different speeds.

This is true in any form of academia.

With this in mind, the lessons provided by Paso Largo Farm instructors are tailered to meet the needs of each individual student.


Lesson Programs From Paso Largo

Schooling Trail Package

This is a great course for someone who has just purchased a new horse or has a horse that has picked up some bad habits. The Schooling Trail Package is designed to help you get your horse prepared for the trails.

Course Focus

LESSON  the first half of the day is spent at Paso Largo Farm working with your horse.

APPLICATION  the second half of the day is spent on the trails applying the lessons.

Course Duration

Weekend OR Week Long Package Includes:
  • Hotel Accommodations
  • Gourmet Meals
  • Full Board for your equine friend
  • Guided tours of Florida's best equine parks

P R I C E : 

Due to the seasonal fluctuation of hotel accomodation costs, we ask that you contact us for pricing.


Full Day Package Includes:

  • Gourmet Lunch
  • Training for you and your equine friend
  • Guided tours of Florida's best equine parks

    $150 for a full day.

    Course Schedule

    Classes are held daily, so you're sure to find a day, a weekend or a week that is convenient for you. Contact us for to make arrangments for your Schooling Trail Class.

    For the Safety of All of Us:
  • Minimum age: 8 years.
  • Children under 16 have to wear helmets.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing, good walking shoes, long pants (no slippery fabric).

Basic Lessons

Perfect for beginners.  Basic Lessons are structured to teach students the fundamentals of horse ownership and equitation.

Course Focus

HORSE:  teaches the rider the basics such as grooming, handling, nutrition and the psycology of the horse.

BALANCE: teaches the rider how to sit properly on a horse without a saddle and to correctly drive the horse.

BITS & STIRRUPS: teaches the rider how the horse responds to the bit and how to properly hold the reigns for more security, to give the horse a constant and keep the reins from slipping through the riders fingers (or being pulled through by a strong horse). Riders also learn about the use of stirrups and leg control.

GAITS: teaches the student the differences and unique characteristics of each gait of the horse.

Course Duration

18 weeks.

3 one-hour classes per week.

Beginner Show Training

Perfect for intermediate riders who are ready to take their horse into the show ring.  Beginner Show Training classes are structured to teach students the fundamentals of showing and the rules in the ring.

Course Focus

RULES: teaches the rider the rules for Gaited Competition.

ATTIRE: teaches the rider the appropriate attire for themselves and for the horse.

HORSE: an in depth examination of the horse to determine its maximum potential and diligent work with the horse to help reach that potential.

RIDER: development of the rider's equestrian skills to ride with optimal equitation and gait consistency.

Course Duration

18 weeks.

3 one-hour classes per week.

Gaited Horse Sporting Discipline

This class is intended for advanced riders who want to take part in sporting events.  Classes are structured to provide rigorous training of both horse and rider.

Training for your Gaited Horse

Paso Largo Farm staffs an experienced team of gifted trainers who love and understand gaited horses.

We work with all gaited horses, such as Paso Finos, Peruvian Pasos, Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox Trotters...just to name a few.

Each horse is conditioned in their training to reach his or her highest potential while building trust and confidence levels.
